Tanksley

Tanksley is a New York-born singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist and pianist. Getting into music at the age of 15, and has studied under the legendary Carlos Alomar (David Bowie’s guitarist, musical arranger and collaborator for decades) as well as New York jazz greats Ronnie Leigh and Nancy Kelly. Over the years, Tanksley has shaped his sound into one that can be described as a creative blend of soul, rock, pop and hip-hop. His performances generate an energy that moves the crowd, physically and emotionally, whether he is playing an solo acoustic set or performing alongside his talented band, featuring multi-instrumentalist Billy Harrison, percussionist Tre Reid and trumpeter Nick DiMaria. Recently, Tanksley opened for Grammy Award winning artist Lalah Hathaway.

He and his band have headlined at the New York State Fair, performed in some of New York’s most storied venues, including Webster Hall, Toshi’s, The Groove and the legendary Minton’s Playhouse in Harlem. Inspiros manages and produces Tanksley, and is in negotiation for his publishing.
