Lilianna Wilde is a Canadian singer-songwriter who’s music has become the soundtrack to two memes that exploded across the internet in 2018. A remix of her song ‘Grind Me Down’ became the backdrop of the animated ‘Fantasize’ meme as well as the ‘My Outfit Challenge’ meme, the former racking up nearly 85 million monetized views across all of the ‘Fantasize' meme videos. On the social media app TikTok, 2.3 million videos have been made using the hashtag ‘#MyOutfitChallenge,’ which have collectively been viewed over 33 million times, with the majority of these videos using 'Grind Me Down.’ The song itself is also immensely popular, the original having over 1.1 million plays between Youtube and Spotify and has been Shazam’d over 115,000 times. The remix, done by Jawster, has garnered nearly 5.4 million Spotify streams without being placed on any curated or user-generated playlists, equalling around 17,000 plays every day. The song has also gained nearly 7 million plays on Youtube. It has also charted in more than 23 countries on the iTunes Electronic charts, including notable peaks at #1 in Chile and The United Arab Emirates, #2 in Hong Kong and Poland and #3 in India. ‘Grind Me Down’ has recently picked up momentum in several Latin American countries, prompting Lilianna record a latin version of the song. Lilianna’s freshman EP, ’Bad For You’ debuted at #10 on the Canadian iTunes Alternative Albums Charts, and went on to reach #3 on the CFMU Top 30 & #16 on the CHSR Top 30 radio in Canada. Her next single, ‘White Rabbit’ is currently being remixed by Jawster for a September release. She is signed with Inspiros, who is handling both management and publishing duties.
